DESCRIPTION
HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) Firmware Version 1.80 (or later) or HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) Firmware Version 1.10 (or later) cannot be authenticated in a second Active Directory domain controller if the first Active Directory domain is not available.
DETAILS
Any ProLiant server using HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) with firmware version 1.80 (or later) or HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) with firmware version 1.10 (or later) cannot have two Active Directory domain controllers configured to allow authentication. The following is an example of a configuration where the second Active Director domain controller will not authenticate in iLO or iLO 2:
- Active Directory domain controllers are configured properly for two different domains.
- iLO is configured in the directory settings page using the schema-free operation.
- Domain names for both domains are entered in the directory server field.
- A group configuration for the schema-free operation is properly configured.
Note: The user can log in to iLO or iLO 2 using the first Active Directory server, but a login is not permitted using the second Active Directory server. The iLO and iLO 2 schema-free feature is only intended to be configured in one domain.
Do not configure iLO schema-free Directory integration to attempt authentication in a second domain if the first domain is unavailable. Instead, configure a backup domain controller to be used when the primary domain controller becomes unavailable.
